Project details

What we need
  • Document that articulates in a consistent voice key messages about our organization’s identity, constituents, and mission and vision.
  • Creation of taglines and talking points to help us communicate clearly and concisely
  • Recommendations on tailoring our messaging for common communication channels (e.g., website copy, printed marketing collateral, pitching verbally)
What we have in place
  • We currently have professional development staff ready to help, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a compelling story, and the ability to provide any other information you need! We have recently revisited and updated our mission and vision with our staff and board, so we think now is the perfect time to work on this project!
How this will help
This project will save us $3,600 , allowing us to fully support 12 children in Mali.

A clear well articulated message will help us tell the unique story of ACFA and link it to the broader development community in Mali and Africa. Clear messaging and consistent language will also help us to attract and inspire new donors.

Our mission

To bring hope to Mali's Vulnerable Children by securing for them a brighter future through the delivery of our programs: nutritious food, health care, safe shelter and education.

What we do

ACFA executes its mission through the delivery of its 4 programs:
SAFE SHELTER:
Located near the Niger River in the capital city of Bamako, ACFA-Mali is the home of Malian vulnerable children. Our live-in staff care for the children on a daily basis. We are blessed with volunteers who eagerly come on a daily basis and help our staff in caring for the children.
NUTRITIOUS MEALS:
A healthy balanced diet is essential to the children’s physical and mental development. Our staff lovingly prepare and distribute our children’s meals on a daily basis.
HEALTH CARE:
In coordination with the Primary Healthcare Center of Badalabougou, ACFA-Mali provides the highest available healthcare service to our children.
EDUCATION:
Education is a very important component of ACFA’s strategy/programs. It is the way to break the chains of poverty. In coordination with the public education systems in Mali, we provide the best curriculum for our children. The standard Malian educational curriculum is supplemented with an added curriculum including arts and crafts, critical thinking skills, English Language instruction and life skills, all conducive to the children’s mental and intellectual development. Study time is built into the schedule. While still attending public school, children ages 11 and above begin to learn vocational skills such as farming, artisan crafts, and computer training. At 18, students are encouraged to pursuit further education. Each year the top academic performer receives a scholarship to a university. Others are hired by partner organizations or issued micro-finance loans to start their own businesses.
