Membership Strategy
Membership Strategy
Project details
What we need
- A Membership Strategy document of 2-4 pages, including analysis of the Organization’s current membership program, step-by-step guide to a new or improved program, growth goals and creative outreach strategies
Additional details
A donor Giving Societies Strategy document of 3-5 pages, including: the identification of tiered societies (inclusive of giving levels/vehicles), suggested names and structure/benefits, as well as a breakdown of the creation/launch, engagement, and cultivation strategy to move donors into higher tiered societies (i.e. moving a monthly donor society member to a legacy giving society member). Societies should at minimum cover legacy giving, major giving, monthly giving, and individual giving.
What we have in place
- We have a President/CEO and Development Director who are strongly committed to (and excited about) this project. We have a robust database (EveryAction) at our disposal, with donor data dating back to 1996 that can be anonymized & supplied in whatever format is most helpful. Though we're a 60 year old org, we're in the beginning stages of really operationalizing our dev programs, and this is a critical piece - because of that, we have a lot of openness, flexibility, and a relatively blank slate.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,848 , allowing us to pay for a year's subscription of the wealth screening tool WealthEngine, empowering us to reactivate, cultivate, and build up our donor program in time for our 60th anniversary.
This project is critical to helping our organization see another 60 years of pushing for inclusive, equitable sex education. Building giving societies is tantamount to creating a pipeline of sustainable support. Our major donor base has shrunk drastically in recent years, and this comprehensive approach will necessarily equip us with the tools we need to start upgrading our donors and diversifying our funding streams to keep propelling sex education as a powerful vehicle for social change.
Project plan
Our mission
SIECUS asserts that sexuality is a fundamental part of being human, one worthy of dignity and respect. We advocate for the rights of all people to accurate information, comprehensive sexuality education, and the full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health services. SIECUS works to create a world that ensures social justice inclusive of sexual and reproductive rights.
What we do
POLICY AND ADVOCACY: Educate advocates and policymakers about providing rights-based sexuality information and education at the federal, state, and local levels.
EDUCATION AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: Publish toolkits and reports to inform and educate various constituencies on comprehensive sexuality education and quality sexual and reproductive health services.
STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS: Shape cultural and societal narratives by applying a multi-faceted approach in all communications with a strong organizational website, social media presence, relevant opinion pieces, and bold position statements.
