To support indigenous and traditional people of the world's rainforests in their efforts to protect their environment and fulfill their rights.

What We Do

By partnering with indigenous groups and community-based organizations in Central and South America, Rainforest Foundation-US seeks to :
1. Secure legal recognition of the land tenure of indigenous and traditional peoples;
2. Strengthen indigenous governance structures and bolster the capacity of their organizations; and
3. Support the participation of indigenous peoples in defining the legal, legislative and policy decisions that affect their traditional lands and resources.

We have helped protect 28 million acres of rainforest over the past 21 years. In 2011 we are focusing our work in Guyana and Panama.
